At only three months old, we figured our little Henry was ready to take his very first airplane ride.
That first airplane ride was actually the first of 5 we would take on this awesome adventure, to the islands of Oahu and Maui in Hawaii. This trip came about because my cousins decided they wanted to renew their wedding vows for their anniversary, and we didn’t want to be the only ones missing out on the fun!
Our first stop was Oahu, where we staying right in downtown Honolulu at a great little boutique hotel that was just recently renovated. With this as our base camp, we took a few day trips out to visit the North Shore, the Dole Pineapple Plantation, the Iolani Palace, and all of the other typical tourist hotspots.
After the ceremony (and a million shave ices), we decided to keep the fun going, and hopped over to the island of Maui where we stayed in an awesome beach-front condo on Keawakapu Beach. I don’t think I would ever get bored of those spectacular sunsets…
As we had rented a vehicle again, we decided to finally test our hand at the Road to Hana – with an infant in the back who needed many, many, many stops for bottles and fresh diapers. It took longer than usual, but we made it all the way there and then all the way back (on the back side) without any issues.
A few more splashes in the pool, and a few more shave ices (for good measure), and we were ready to fly back home. Only this time, we were smart enough to book the ‘baby aisle’ of the plane! Aloha, until next time…
The following are a few of my favourite photos from this trip. If you’d like to see all of my photos (including about a million adorable baby photos), please head over to https://www.flickr.com/photos/codename/albums/72157666633226128
