A quick trip away to the Capitol for the July 4th weekend (and the 20th anniversary Foo Fighters show) was amazing, full of site seeing and museum exploring. On our last day, I left Cece at a coffee shop and set my clock for 1 hour to try and fit in another portrait session. On the hottest day ever, under the beating noon sun, I was dripping with sweat in 5 minutes…and I hadn’t even found a place to setup yet! I looked around and saw I was in front of the National Portrait Gallery…and the irony was not lost on me. Washingtonians were slightly more cautious about stopping to get their photo taken, but eventually I broke my shutout and got a few people to stop. I handed out business cards to those who asked, and found out later that I had taken a portrait of another photographer! (Check out his stuff at www.troylilly.com)  All in all, it was nice to get a few more portraits for my project, even though the setting and the results are just ok compared to some of my other favourite outings.  To see the rest of this project, please visit https://www.flickr.com/photos/codename/collections/72157644679122214/.
