Can you believe it’s been 4 years since the last time I traveled to see the Oilers play on the road?  Along with my fiancé & parents, a decision was made to take a quick trip down to Nashville to help alleviate the coming end of another season. We called in a few favours again and got to see the Oil practice before the game, where I got to chat with The Nuge (Ryan Nugent Hopkins) and my hero Ryan Smyth afterwards. The game was a lot of fun too, even though we lost. The fans have gotten even crazier since our last trip here!

Dad also found out that the National Corvette Museum was but a quick 3 hour drive away in Bowling Green, Kentucky, so we decided to make a road trip of it. I didn’t mind, as I got to cross another state off my list!  The cars and museum were pretty cool, I must admit. Afterwards we continued deeper into Kentucky to see Mammoth Caves, the ‘longest known cave in the world.’

Back to Nashville for some amazing food. BBQ pulled pork sandwiches at Jack’s, BBQ pork and cornbread pancakes with our eggs for breakfast at the Loveless Cafe, ‘Damn Hot’ chicken from Hattie B’s…we definitely ate well on this trip!   We also checked off another Tennessee icon from our list on this trip, by driving out to Lynchburg and the Jack Daniels Distillery. Located in a dry county, we still managed to drink AND purchase some of the stuff.

A great quick trip…can’t wait to go back!
